We focus on research aimed at influencing policy rather than purely academic pursuits. Our efforts are directed at making administrative-level interventions that significantly impact policy outcomes.
The Polymath Society is conducting a survey with a sample of 20,000 participants to assess the mental health of individuals across various age groups, demographics, and genders. The survey aims to uncover key principles essential for maintaining good mental health, while also highlighting societal and personal behaviors that contribute to poor mental well-being. By identifying these factors, the study will provide a comprehensive understanding of mental health challenges faced by different groups. The findings will be compiled into a detailed set of recommendations, which will be presented to the Madhya Pradesh government to be accounted for new mental health policy.
Despite the steady increase in health budget in India, the overall health of the population is worsening, with the rise of new and unexplained diseases. Scientific research has identified food adulteration as the primary cause behind this concerning issue. The adulteration of food not only compromises nutrition but also exposes individuals to harmful substances, leading to an overall decline in public health. To tackle this issue, The Polymath Society, in collaboration with AIIMS Bhopal, is conducting research to examine various forms of adulteration and are identifying gaps in laboratory technologies used for detection of adulteration. The Polymath Society is also reviewing existing laws aimed at preventing food adulteration to pinpoint deficiencies and propose restructuring within the food department.
